HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAYS – A WHITE STONE WITH A NEW NAME / REVELATION 2:17

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

The Victory of the Faithful: Hidden Manna and the White Stone

In a world full of noise, distractions, and competing priorities, a sharp and urgent command echoes through the pages of Scripture: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

This isn’t a passive suggestion. It is a direct call to action. The warnings Jesus gave to the seven churches in the Book of Asia stand true for us today. The Holy Spirit is actively calling the people of God to remain true to His Word, to conquer the sins of this world, and to refuse to compromise with immorality.

When we compromise, we risk losing God’s favor, His guiding presence, and the power of the Holy Spirit. But for those who stand firm and depend completely on God, the rewards are breathtaking. In Revelation 2:17, Jesus promises two beautiful gifts to the overcomer: the hidden manna and a white stone with a new name.

1. The Hidden Manna: True Spiritual Fulfillment

Just as God provided physical manna to sustain the Israelites in the wilderness, Jesus provides hidden manna to sustain our souls today. This hidden manna represents the spiritual life, deep nourishment, and total fulfillment that can only be found in a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. When the world leaves us feeling empty, Jesus satisfies our deepest hunger.

2. The White Stone: A Verdict of Innocence

In ancient times, a white stone carried profound cultural meaning. In courts of law, judges used a white stone to signify a vote of “not guilty.” For the Christian overcomer, the white stone is a visual promise of absolute forgiveness and spiritual innocence. Through Christ, the enemy’s accusations are silenced, and we are declared clean.

3. Admission to the Banquet & A New Nature

A white stone also served as an admission ticket to exclusive festivals and victory banquets. Receiving this stone means we are invited to Christ’s ultimate victory celebration—the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Even more beautifully, the stone is inscribed with a new name known only to the one who receives it. This represents our brand-new nature, our divine authority, and our full inheritance as victorious conquerors in God’s kingdom.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with open hearts and open ears, desiring to hear what Your Spirit is saying to us. Holy Spirit, give us the courage and the strength to stand firm against the temptations and compromises of this world. Help us to guard our hearts, protect our devotion to You, and remain unstained by immoral behaviors.

We thank You that we do not have to fight these battles in our own strength. We depend completely on You. Thank You for the promise of the hidden manna—sustain us daily with the spiritual nourishment that only comes from a relationship with Jesus. Thank You for the white stone—for the beautiful truth that we are forgiven, declared not guilty, and invited to Your eternal banquet. Inscribe Your new name upon our hearts and let us walk in the full authority of our inheritance.

Keep us faithful until the very end, so that we may stand before You as victorious overcomers.
